Blog Post #5: Parables

  1. What specific things did you learn from your group's parable?
From my group, the name of our parable is The Prodigal Son. The story starts with a man and his two sons. I learned a lot from this parable. God is using this parable to teach us that he loves for each of us, he is willing to accept all the mistakes that we make and forgive us. From this Parable, it reflects the wonderful indulgence that God shows toward us. Even we are acting as selfish as the prodigal son. God trust us we will learn a lesson and come back to him.
2. What specific things did you learn from the parables that were presented by the other groups?
From the parable” Unforgiving Servant,”  I learned we need always to forgive us. Everyone will make the mistakes; sometimes we feel it is hard to forgive other people. Try to think about it in another way, if we make the mistakes, we also hope other people to forgive us. From the parable “The laborers in the vineyard,” I learned we should be grateful for what we have, and we should not worry about what other people have. We can compare to other people because God is a fair man, the things that belong to us is wonderful, and we need to be grateful. From the parable which is called” The Rich Man and Lazarus,” I learned our life is more important than wealth. When we face death, money is insignificant. If we have money, we need to remember to help people who need our help hand, and we always need to care each other not shame others.
3. Which moral/lesson impacted you the most and why?
I think the parable which called Unforgiving Servant impacted me most. It is the moral lesson from this parable is related our group’s parable, and the main point from those experiences are important for us. We need to learn to stand on the others side to think about the problems. Everyone will make the mistakes in every time, if we do not forgive each other, we will not have good friends, there won’t be so many people that care about you and love you. Therefore, we need to learn how to forgive each other and try not to make the mistakes make other get angry or sad. Just be kind and keep mercy on others, everything will be comfortable and wonderful.
4. What do you think it would be like if Jesus were in our society today?
If Jesus were in our society today, he will be our friend and be a good listener. Like a great friend, he is helpful and tries to help us if we need help and think the best way to solve the problems that we have. If Jesus were in our society today, Jesus would be a good teacher. He will teach us how to be a good man. Jesus will show us a life lesson each day and leads us to be a hard worker, to catch our goal, and becomes a successful person. He is an excellent example that everyone wants to learn something from him.

I chose this picture because from my answer, the most important point is about forgiveness, this is a good picture show the forgiveness.
